I have a question to pose. On several occasions I have moved basketball sized rocks off single track tails up AF canyon this year. I ride my moto and my mountain bike on these trails at least twice a week. I know where the rocks seem to move to the center of the trail and if I see one that has moved and is large enough that it could cause a crash in a corner or smack an engine case I stop and move it to the side of the trail. Is this something that the FS frowns on? Should I just leave things alone? I have only move a dozen or so large rocks to the sides of popular trails. I'm not trying to make a rocky trail a dirt sidewalk or anything. It's more of a personal and equipment safety thing.
