My 2003 Dmax needs a new ECM. Anyone know of or recommend or caution against an aftermarket or remanned unit? The new ones are not cheap at all.

Thanks,

Scott

Why does it need a new ECM?
It might be fixable; I just socketed and chipped my Camaro's PCM after I had a failed re-flash.

Thanks, I was under the impression that used would be bad for one of these but I have realized that isn't the case. Thanks for the info. Should I put in a stock one and continue to use my edge chip or just have it reprogrammed? Thoughts?

if it were me i would ditch the edge chip and get an EFI live tune they work with your ECM not against it

Thanks for the responses. I ended up with a used one for $150 and it seems to run fine. No programming yet. Still debating on that or continuing to run the edge. It does pretty well in stock form at the moment.
