There is a dowl pin in the cam cover on a 12 valve that tends to fall out into the gears, it's an easy fix, but something to consider. I've lost 5th gear 4 times on my NV4500, switched to a 6 speed about a year ago. 97 Cummins Dually. BTW, what kind of goofy color is your Jeep?
