Does anyone like 4wheel Drive and Sport Utility Magazine?

I really admire how Phil Howell always says exactly what's on his mind. Always takes on the greenies and talks protecting our lands for 4wheel drive use.
But with that said i have to let this script run out. I've been scribing for years but i'm just sick of 90% jeeps and a toyota sprinkled in for good measure. They are such whores to the vendors (but i guess they are all like that).

His most recent editorial has raised some browse in the community, not because he is taking on the greenies but taking on 4x4 club that he feels are working too closely with the BLM/FS, etc. I don't know any of the specifics just that its turned some heads in a less than positive way.

I've enjoyed the magazine over the years, but have never been a subscriber rather just picked it up on occasion. I get Toyota Trails, 4WDTO, Overland Journal and a couple of others and have a hard time reading all of them by the time the next issue arrives

I read the editorial you mention Kurt. He claims there are 4x4 people actually placing signs to close trails when the trail shouldn't be closed at all. He says they are doing so in order to not get ourselves in more trouble. I don't have it in front of me but that is essentially the jist. I like the mag, the articles are in depth and the pictures are way more informative than the mainstream off road mags. Four Wheeler, Jp and the such are more just catalogs I think.

I get CRAWL and Overland Journal. The others I pick up from time to time when a feature rig or build interests me. The two mags I get pretty much fill my slim spare time and cover my interests.

I get almost all the offroad magazines. I actually like sport utility magazine pretty decent. I also enjoy crawl, overland journal, and jp

I get petersens 4wheel and occasional 4wheel sport utility but im not as impressed with 4wheels articles but it is still a good mag

4 Wheel Drive and Sport Utility is the only magazine I currently subscribe to.

I subscribed to Petersons for many years and it's a good mag, but it got old. I also got Crawl for quite some time, but let my subscription lapse recently.

In the past, 4 Wheel Drive and Sport Utility covered some amazing remote Southern Utah trails.... I loved those articles! I'd love to see more stuff like that. Phil calls it how he sees it in his editorials and features, I've been a fan of his for years... he's a no BS kinda guy. His latest editorial caught my attention, it will be interesting to see what he says in the next one.

I love the magazine and think phil is a very honest and great guy. I recently had the opportunity to work with phil on a up coming article. During the build I got to know him pretty well. He pays as much attention to detail in his work as he does to his builds.. which is a lot!! I think the magazine is ahead of the rest for that reason. Sometimes I do feel the magazine can be a bit jeep saturated, but overall I find it entertaining and informational, it is pretty well rounded magazine.
