I heard that dogs aren't allowed on the sand flats area trails (hells revenge and fins n things). The only thing I found was here saying that they are allowed. Does anyone know the policy? Are there any trails in Moab where dogs aren't allowed?

As far as I know, dogs are allowed on Hells Revenge and Fins as long as they are on a leash. (There is a leash law in Grand County, and Sand Flats is a county/BLM operation). Dogs also must be leashed in any BLM campground. Beware of letting your dogs off leash on the trails, though... there have been several dogs caught in leg traps over the last few weeks, some of them very close to established trails and roads.

Leg traps? Are people actually setting traps for the dogs or is this something else?

Also, you're not allowed to take dogs into Canyonlands anymore, which is pretty stupid in my opinion.
