I hooked up my converter box and can barely get only one channel. I have messed with it and know how to work it to get the highest signal strength by moving my rabbit ears but its just not strong enough. I tried to get a stronger antenna but can't find one. Anyone else have these issues with a solution besides getting cable or dish?

I just set mine up on an old TV in my basement. It worked perfectly. Got 21 channels all crystal clear. I got the Zenith box and am using an unamplified set-top antenna. I'm at about 3400 South and about 6000 West, for reference. I pointed the UHF dish antenna thing west, and up. That seemed to work best.

I have set up three of these so far and they have worked fine. The ones that use a roof top antenna work best and the only one that had some problems was the on that had a UHF only antenna attached to it rather than using a rooftop antenna. With the UHF antenna positioned right it did start to work.

rooftop antenna let me get a bunch of channels. I couldn't get much of anything out of the rabbit ears at my GF's apartment, so we hooked up a roof top antenna and now she is getting a lot better luck... I have seen amplified antennas available at wal-mart or newegg.com for between $50-$300. But a $25.00 rooftop antenna from radioshack worked just fine for what i needed

So i spent all day on this crap and still have nothing. I bought this phillips rooftop ant. from walmart http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=5000836
and was the only one I could find that someone actually had. Iset it up on my attic and still get nothing, I get more with my rabbit ears on the tv. My analog signal is better than ever with the rabbit ears in the attic but still not strong enough for the digital signal. Still pissed-Lewis

now I might have missed something but the new digital converters need to have the new digital antenna and they convert this digital signal back to an analog one for the older tv's... so if the converter your talking about is the new digital one you need a new digital antenna not the old analog ones.... this is one of the things that no one is catching on to....

Your best bet is to get a digital antenna to hook up with the converter...

Thanks for the info. Only problem is that it is web only and out of stock. I will keep my eye out for one.
