So I am ready to share a project I have been slooowwwllly working on for the last couple of months.
The idea here is that the easier and more comfortable it is to get out, the more often we will go. Family is wife, 2 young boys, and 2 good sized dogs so things get crowded real fast in the Cruizer, especially when you carry way too much repair/rescue stuff. The plan is that this will be a permanent home for all things camping so prep for a trip will be throwing in a stocked cooler and some clothes, hook it up, and get off the pavement.
We enjoy some comforts when we go; 10x14 springbar tent, 2 LARGE cots, 2 small cots, zero gravity chairs, stove, groover,......kitchen sink, so a trailer just made sense. I saw a lot of great designs that I liked elements of, but nothing that was just what I had in mind. With a quick sketch of all the things I wanted, I was off to the steel yard.
Yes its large, probably not for everyone, and I am sure that with use there are things I will wish I had done differently hence the v1.0. Camping stuff in the trailer and wheeling stuff in the rig. Track width is the same as the LC and both ride on 35" BFG's on 6 lug pattern. This will get a standard and a batwing awning, drifta style kitchen (check this guys designs out they are well thought out, well executed, and simple, unlike what I always do), 25 gallon water tank, and timbren axle-less suspension.
main frame is 2"x3" .120 with a piece of 12 gauge steel stitch welded on 6" centers for the floor. Main box is 4'x7'
So here is my progress so far
