DVD burning

How do you take an .avi file and burn it to a DVD+/-R? I've used DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter to copy DVDs, but, I don't know how to burn .avi's. I don't want a VCD, it needs to be DVD+/-R. Any help would be appreciated.

Nero Vision Express, or WinDVD creator both do a good job.

I'd look through www.sf.net and see if you can find anything...everything on there is open source (free)
