Effort to map Utah's urban area trails

I read it and have seen the push in Centerville. I can't decide if this is a good thing?
There are a lot of canyons that the hikers frequent but I wonder about those same hikers/trail runners on the established access and fire break roads. They have a pissed off attitude the minute they see a Truck heading down the road.
Is this effort to map the area going to increase foot traffic to the point of squeezing out motorized recreation and shooting?

In 2007 I could get on the trails in the morning around 7:30 and not see anyone until 10ish. Now there is continuous activity with hikers, bikers, dogs, jogging Mom's...

How about they concentrate on opening up the Farmington side?
