cool pics, but the guy in the black t-shirt in photos 5 and 6 looks a little suspect to me.

If by "suspect" you mean remarkably good looking and amazingly well mannered, then yes. I suppose I am "suspect"

cool pics.
What is the rating on the pickle trail now that the "pickle" portion of the trail is now, what appears to be a pile of rocks? I ran it once way back when it first became a trail and have not been back because I heard that it had eroded in that area to the point that the trail had been blocked.

I wandered onto it a couple years ago by accident. It was pretty difficult then for me...spool in the rear open front, and not much else.

I plan on running it again next time I'm down there to actually get pictures of the whole trail.

Then again I'm not 100% sure that I was on the pickle or not....

I would say it probably a 3+ to a 4

I heard that the Pickle was closed do to an endangered bug or something?

Is it still open? I'm guessing since it was Kurt who ran it that it is.

Its not closed as per the latest travel plan map I have, it would have to have been closed within the last year. If in deed it had been closed in the last year, I would think we would have been notified by either a RR4W'er, or a public comment period on the closure, notices at the trailhead, etc. There are no markings at the trailhead nor the end (yes, I know they get removed often).

Too be honest I didn't even think to question its legality as it has never been questioned...

Yeah, I didn't see any signs either while we were on it, nor anything on Bartlett Wash while we were heading to the trail head. The trail still looked as though it was being used (track and all) so I would guess that it was still open.

I'm pretty sure it's open too because when i ran it during EJS there were a good 30 people lined up for it, i took a nap in my car and waited
