I have spent quite a bit of time on the phone with Sarah. She has to be the most extreme "greenie" that I have ever met. She thinks about things to recycle that I would never have considered before. But she is probably one of the biggest advocates we have there. She has been great to work with, and will support and appreciate any of the clean up and recycling effort we can provide. She takes the PSH area on a personal level. She is the reason that we have tried to get people in the morning to help clean up. Thanks for showing up and helping out!
I went out there again this morning. This time it was me and my 11yo nephew. She was happy to see anyone again, although I have to admit, I have been the only wheeler out there these last two days.
She actually asked for a ride in my jeep. She said that was huge for her to actually do that. I took the door off for her to get the full effect. Before my nephew and I left, she snapped a photo of me, him and my jeep. Says it will end up on her website as she says, "the first jeep I ever rode in". She really is a good person, and simply cares a lot about the environment. Last year's efforts, and this year's efforts have made big strides to change her opinion of wheelers.
We need more people out there though. Although these past two days was easy enough to handle just me and her and my nephew, it will get worse as the week goes on. I won't be able to get out there tomorrow, but will be there on friday. Would love to see a big turnout.
I've passed along the contact info for Channel 21 to Cruiseroutfit. He will try to arrange something on Sunday as that seems to be the big day for cleanup.
