I run Spal and have ran perma cool. They both are sweet. Not knowing what you have tried to cure the vapor lock, but have you tried a small electic fuel pump (in-line)? They are like $30.00 at the parts house.

The perma cool fan was $75.00
Spals are exspensive, maybe $140.00 ++

Make sure there are no weird bend in the line, too. Every damn one of my old FSJ's had some bizarre curly-q right near the carb. When I fixed it, no more vapor lock, like magic.

Puller is more efficient at moving air than a pusher, I'm told. Plus I like 'em that way if only for looks--no ugly fan on the front. :)

However, a mechanical fan is even more effective if properly shrouded. Then you can use the pusher as a back up.

True unless it's a flex fan, then it'll just not work very well at any RPM.

I've never run both kinds of fans, only one or the other. Once I go electric, I'm committed. :D

I have a 3 wire taurus fan, and a controller from www.dccontrol.com. I haven't actually ran anything yet since I still have to build the vehicle for them to go in.

My buddy runs the Taurus fan in his Landcruiser, great results.

Also...

I've cured a vapor lock problem in the past by going to an electric fuel pump, and re-routing fuel lines.

Keep us posted on how you like that controller. I've used Taurus fans on several vehicles with great results, and the controller sounds interesting...but I've never used one.

Sure thing Carl.
It'll be a bit before I get to put it into action though. I'm still building the chassis.
