I had little info sbout where we were going... me and robbie more or less tried to follow the guy in front of us.. i know we started out south of Blanding on HWY 95.. then drove through Needles the second day, camped just outside the other end.. after a run in with the gas wench:mad:... then after that... not entirely sure of the roads we were on.. i remeber Hurrah Pass the last night.. anyways, Cody, or Kurt will hopefully chime in here with better details..

it was the best trip i've ever been on. i slept on a cot each night under the stars.. the weather was perfect

Long Way To Moab Tour - RD

I'll be updating this as I progress on the actual trip report, this is my rough draft version

Wednesday - 10/10/07
Sandy to Blanding, stop @ Rays in Green River (too busy), stop at Moab Brewery for dinner. Fuel in Blanding and onto Comb Wash to camb for the night.

Thursday - 10/11/07
Cottonwood Canyon Road towards the Peavine Corridor. Peavine Canyon to Dark Canyon. Stopped by washed out road in Dark Canyon. Back to Little Notch, pass Big Notch towards Duck Lake. Duck Lake to Beef Basin. Camp near Beef Basin loop.

Friday - 10/12/07
Complete Beef Basin Loop. North to Ruin Park. Detour to Impossible Hill. Back to Chesler Park, and the Grabens. Up and over Elephant Hill (with two trailers) and hurry to The Needles Outpost to fuel up before they close for the night. Refused gas by the crazy woman at the Outpost, though supplies are OK to buy??? Ration our remaining fuel and head towards Lockhart. Camp for the night near Indian Creek.

Saturday - 10/13/07
Continue north along the Lockhart Basin Road. Stop for lunch at Lockhart Canyon, swim in the Colorado and do a bit of shooting. Continue north on Lockhart eventually camping just shy of Hurrah Pass right along the Colorado River on a segment of the Chicken Corners trail. Part of our group decideds to make a fuel/beer run... they finally return to camp at 3am.

Sunday - 10/14/07
Up and over Hurrah Pass, landing in Moab shortly after noon. Grab a lunch at the Brewery again (Beer Cheese Soup!). Moab to Sandy with a quick soda stop in Wellington.
