Eureka?

Anyone know of any trails out and around Eureka? I am heading out there for a little league soccer game and would like to make the trip worth it.

I like taking the pony express trail to simpson springs --> little sahara sand dunes --> Eureka. no real rock-crawling, but it's an awesome drive.

Black rock canyon isn't rock crawling but its fun. I have some fun 4x4 trails on gps north off eureka. I also have a fun 40 mile loop on gps that passes eureka its desert and washes and canyons.

Just to the north is a nice old train tunnel to drive through and a whole lot of dirt roads up little canyons and such

Do you have the coords for black rock canyon? I've been to the tunnel and around a lot of the dirt road in Elberta but been out around eureka.

It's worth checking out Silver City and Mammoth while you're out there. There appears to be some mostly-intact structures on private property above Mammoth that would be cool to check out too, but I don't know who to talk to or if they allow access. It's heavily signed, so I doubt it.
