exhaust leak in toyota

hey my freinds 93 toyota (22RE) motor has a crack between the manifold and the downpipe. I'll look again but its kind'ov on this bump in the tube. Does anyone know how to weld this (i can ony to MIG and I thinkI'll burnm through it) or fix it some howall the shops want replace the tubing and thats like 200.00 any help would be appreciated thanks.

practice on some other peices of exhaust. i have managed to mig some exhaust and i have no training and very little experience. it will be ugly but if it seals...... my welds were very ugly but beat it w/ a hammer and it held

i just remebered, i have one of those front pipes here. no flange on the end where the converter bolts up and rusty looking (like everything around here) but you could have it for the cost of shipping and 10 bucks for "packaging and handling"

also you can try Fire seal 2000 from por-15 here is their link:
http://www.por15.com/product.asp?productid=7 and for the down pipe just replace it. It is not worth the time to patch it.

yeah, that is one thing i have learned w/ exhaust is that it is more trouble than it is worth to try to half ass it. it may seem like a lot of money to fix it good but in the long run it is so much less hassle.

I just wraped a piece of sheetmetal around the crack and then welded the hell out of it. Works like a charm and finally passed emissions.
