Damn, i have to take it in for a vin inspection and a bunch of other crap. Unless I can make it weigh less then 750 lbs.

Get it how you want it, fixed up, tires, etc - then weigh it. If you have to, you have to. I'd rather have a trailer I like that is functional than one that limits itself based on registration.

I got a bit more done last night. I built a rack that will hold the roof top tent. I built it out of 1x1 square tube. It should be strong enough to support all the weight. I'm not quite done with it yet. I want to add some gussets for added rigidity.

This is where I stopped last night.

Looking good. A few gussets would be a good idea, just speaking from experience. The good news is your tent should be delivered today. I won't get home until later so I would need to drop it off tomorrow morning, or you're welcome to come grab it. My wife should be home all day. Delivery is scheduled sometime before 2pm so anytime after that should be fine if you wanted to come get it.

Did some test fitting yesterday. All seems pretty good. Think I'll start painting the metal work on the rack. Then fix the rest of the rust holes in the bed.

And don't try to give me crap about not using a pintle hitch to move it around. I have one on the back of my disco. I just pulled it out of the garage to try out the tent with my truck since it was parked in front of the trailer. nothing dangerous occured. isn't it so damn dumb i would even have to say that.

The bow that extends out for the canopy on the tent should be at about 45* and support the upper corner of the canopy and the vertical sides will hang down. Common mistake to extend it straight out flat the first time.

Looks great otherwise.

Uh, I've lost track of how many vehicles I've owned. And I have way to many Irons in the Fire right now.

My buddy and I own 2 VW Buses together:

1977 Westie Camper with pop-up top full kitchen (needs a few engine parts to get running)
1970 VW Bus Deluxe. I need to install the motor and transmission I have for it

I currently have 3 vehicles now:

2000 Land Rover Discovery II
2006 Ford F350 Crew Cab Longbed 4x4 Lariat
1984 BMW 733i

Its a pretty rare version. It has a 5 speed manual transmission. Its actually pretty fun to drive and a great highway cruiser.

It came with a trunk full of parts. A whole second interior. I'm in the process of changing everything out.

Got a bit more done. I finished up the bathroom I was working on, so I can work on this again.

I started removing more crap off the frame and bottom side of the trailer. Still have a few more bits to remove. Then I'll remove the bed and start sand blasting and painting the frame.
