Exploding artillery shell... be careful tonight guys

Ok, so I decided to setup the tripod underneath some of the artillery shell fireworks that you launch out of those tubes... The first attempt one of the shells fell on the ground and exploded! I had the camera setup to take a picture directly above the launch spot so I missed it.. I didnt miss the second time he dropped the artillery shell..


The blast rocked the cam, and you can also see the guy fleeing on the lower right, he was SO close to being seriously hurt


I burned some of my hair, and had a piece hit my arm..

No one was hurt, but it was damn close. I am not sure what the problem was, but he gave up after two tries. Ill post the first blast on the ground.

That white ghost on the right is two motions made by the guy, first gray white shadow was him surprised it fell out, delayed reaction. Then I YELLED and dove GET AWAY!
the second blur was him moving away.

We went to Sugar House last night and they had 9...yes 9 go off below the tree line and we were sitting on the hill by the stage at about the tree line level :eek:

noticed that as well. figured one was a fluke but sure enough.........
