Exploration Run

This Saturday my wife and I are planning to explore some areas we haven't seen. We are planning to go up Providence Canyon to Logan Peak (which we have done) then then either to Bear Lake or the Sinks stopping by Gray Cliff Spring, Lime Spring, and Old Ephram's Grave. If we go to Bear Lake we will go via Richardson Fork. Either way it should work out to just over 50 miles. The plan is very flexible and may change to only include only familiar trails if the weather is bad. It would be fun if anyone wanted to come.

Also if anyone knows more about the areas listed above I'd love some advice.

Millville Canyon is shown on my map. Is that a good trail or more of just a road?
Does Richardson Fork go down to Bear Lake? How is it? -Thanks

My little bro that lives in Millville mentioned it was too hard for his stock Colorado now? It used to be a better road than Prov. Canyon. Eiphram's Grave area is really great. I used to know my way around pretty good up there, but it's been about two decades since I was active in that area.

Millville canyon is prettier than Prov but not near as hard.

If you have not been up Millville then I'd recomend trying it. Though it is not as hard as Prov it is still tough (expecially with the rain we've had lately), and again very pretty. Grey cliffs has mellowed out in the past few years, but is worth checking out anyway.

The sinks are pretty cool as well (expecially the Peter Sink area). For the most part the roads fairly easy to traverse, but when the snow or the rain falls it can be a whole nother' story! And if you swing by the Ranger Station at the mouth of Logan Canyon you can get a very detailed map of the region you've mentioned.

Also if you drop out in Bear lake I'd head North to Paris Idaho then head towards the Paris Ice Caves. If you follow the right path you can drop out in Preston Idaho, and end up making a big loop back to home. It is one of the best trails in the area with plenty of scenery. I got two good maps from them yesterday, one just shows trail and the other shows roads and trails as if they were all the same.

Too bad you have to work, I was hoping you could come.

There's GOT to be some decent "jeep trails" up there. There used to be, but I've not ever been interested when I lived there and now don't have time while I'm up there to figure them out.

As it turns out I don't have as much time as I thought tomorrow, so up Prov. maybe to Logan Peak (time permitting) then down Millville. Do you want to meet a Macey's at 10:00? What do you drive?

Im still not 100% if I can go. If everything works to my favor Ill be in the parking lot @10. I drive an 85 4 runner with 33's. Ive only had it about 2 months and need to get it out to see how it does before the winter tear down.
