Has any one ever had any experience with the “trail fix” for a fan clutch?

What I am referring to is where you take the fan clutch off the motor and drill a hole through it and place a bolt in the hole, then puting it all back together making sure that the bolt does not interfere with the pully or the radiator, In turn making it lock up?

Well of course it is going to help when you are idlin.....you have successfully locked the fan solid to the water pump pulley. Its like not having any clutch anymore....:D

That’s what I thought. When I put in a 160 degree thermostat and it would still get hot with the ac on, and I could not hear the mechanical fan at all like I could when I first replaced the fan clutch. When I pulled the fan clutch there was a lot of oil on the clutch so that is a determining factor that it was bad any way.
