if you look there is still snow up at the top of the road... not going to open until that snow is melted or plowed....

More than 50 inches of it according to Kevin Eubank, plus I can see it from my back yard.
You guys must be mistaken .. and assume im an Idiot by the demeanor of replies. historically, "snow" being on the mountain did not denote the closure of the road, for as many years as I have gone up there.
I was told that starting this year they will no longer plow the road.. the FAA decided that its cheaper to fly their guys up via helicopter than continually plow and maintain road during winter. They made this decision after the slide that took out the road two winters ago. This Decision was made when they began to chopper their guys up to the towers....
This gate is at the VERY Bottom, next to the pond road... not at the middle of the canyon at the Y like it used to be.
Snow has never kept the road closed to the Y.. Not until this year... In my 15-20 years going up there. Wipe the smug look from the face
