Tacoma's thread got me drooling over spicy food, so I figured I'd make a thread about it. What are you guys using for hot sauce
that is actually hot and you can get locally?

I ran out of Dave's Insanity Sauce which wasn't too bad, but I'd like something a bit hotter. I think my taste buds are defective since it's rare I can find something hot. Not to mention I think natural light is good.

I just bought some stuff to replace Dave's that said on the bottle "one drop does it" and it made from habaneros and vinegar. Needless to say it's about as hot as water. :-\

Tapatio is what I generally use lately for heat, since it doesn't taste like much. It's a decent cheap workaday heat-adder.

I get some stuff sent from NY called "The Wrath of God" and occasionally another one, the name of which I can't remember... it's a little milder. "Dave's..." is good stuff, tasty.

Generally I make stuff with a lot of chiles or fresh jalapenos (if there's going to be a vinegary something to go with them, I don't like the peppery flavor of jalapenos that much).. habaneros are great in the chili I'm going to make again for the Super Bowl. I wonder if I put that recipe up? hmmm

So I went on an Emergency call last night to FN Hotsauce on Main in Park City. A gentleman walked into the establishment claiming he could handle really hot food and that there wasn't a hot substance on the earth he couldn't handle. The employees handed the gentleman a cracker and a sample of the hottest sauce they make. After trying said hot sauce the gentleman went into convulsions, which is why we ended up responding. After helping the gentleman into the ambulance for his trip to the hospital, one of the paramedics in the back of the engine starts to brag he enjoys really hot sauce. The establishment produced another cracker with a medium sauce. Our Paramedic almost passed out before we could get him to breath. It was hilarious Big dumb fireman can't handle a little bit of what the other guy did.

I would try FN hotsauce anytime.

That alone sounds like a glowing endorsement! I want to go now.!

I challenged my macho 16yr old brother to eat half a habanero with me, I thought I killed him. Poor kid turned purple, could barely breathe... drank a 1/2gal of milk in about 4 seconds, then went and puked. :D I just thought it was hot.

I think maybe we should have a little fireside hot pepper fest at Delta.

I go more for flavor than heat, my favorite is Arizona Gunslinger, Cholua, Tapatia.
I have some stuff made in the Bahama's that is amazing, but hard to get.

I also have about 25 bottles of really hot stuff. I'm a collector, right now the hottest I have is called Da Bomb and is rated at 289,000 on the scoville scale.

FYI

I remember seeing a rather large selection of various hot sauces while picking up a delicious sandwich at the Grove deli / market in SLC a few months back. :D

They're located at about 1900 south main.

I thought that some of you hot sauce fiends might be interested in that.

Carry on with the hot sauce-ness.

I like hot foods a lot, but I also like to eat my food, I dont enjoy something that is so insanely hot, it isnt even edible. For some spicing up, and something that adds a little kick (very little) and flavor to the food, I like tabasco, tapatio, cholula, etc. Hell, I have been known to eat hot sauce plain

I would however like to someday try sauces such as daves insanity, etc.

Grove Deli makes the best freakin' roast beef subs ever. They do have a good selection of spice there...

Aji chileno is my favorite. Then KFC hot sauce is second.

endorphin rush is the hottest sauce I have ever tasted. Watched a friend eat an entire roll of paper towels after trying it. in the middle of class non the less. The look on the teachers face was pricless as the kid ran and grapped paper towels and started cramming then in his mouth, awesome. the hottest thing I have ever eaten was a some crappy sauce these people from ghana made me dip my Fufu in. fufu is like play doh made out of dragon feces except boring.
