Finally...got my '61 Caddy Coupe Deville!

The plan...

Air ride tech air bags system with auto ride leveling sensors
Shaved emblems and door handles
Fat White walls
Leather Interior

Colors are not decided yet.

I got the complete car plus and extra engine, tranny, rear axle, two more doors, an entire extra wiring harness for the entire car, another dash with everything in it, another frame, 4 bias ply vintage tires stored in an air conditioned basement since 1974 with 8 original hub caps in pristine condition...and hundreds of other parts in boxes I didn't even bother to look in because I was too busy loading em all up before he changed his mind!!

It's probably gonna be 2010 before I get another Jeep!:greg:

My buddy had one in high school that same year. It was dropped, and painted flat black with a trailer hitch... Nothin' more kick a$$ that pulling a couple dirtbikes behind a Caddy :greg:

What are the stats on the northstar? I have two engines and transmissions so I might try to get the original motor running. I do like the idea of bringing it up to spec with a modern motor and trans.

I pad several thousand for it but the parts cache' was worth the extra money. I will recoup at least a thousand off the 4-door parts that came with it which are not compatible with the coupe. I even got a spare rear windshield....$$$$$$$

That stuff gets pricey

97 vin y I believe, it's the lower horsepower but higher torque, of the two. But with custom exhaust you get all the power you will need.

It is clean as hell. Has all the bolt ons still there. no wiring or computer.

And it could be yours for $1K

I gotta look on the side of the tire when I get back next week. I have a couple junk tires in the back of my work truck...let me check...

I do plan on using them for sure. I think I can get pretty good reproduction tires from Coker Tire so it I wear the originals out I can get another good set for a little less than a small fortune.

Well I have two 390s so I gotta try and get those suckers working right now. If I do anything other than stock it will be a modern northstar with a modern 4 speed computer controlled trans like a 4l60e.

I decided I am going with a deep silver from one of the various German car makers as it is a lot closer to the interior colors. I will start out with black and then paint it pretty in a few years when I get it back together right.

My focus when I get home will be fuel system first, then brakes, and then see what I have to deal with as far as getting the motor and trans up to par. I think I should be able to get it running in a few days if I hit it hard! I am pumped to drive the thing!
