Fire at Firebirds last year

I'm not sure if anyone here raced the Firebirds race last year or not...but I remember hearing about a fire that started towards the end of the first loop...well, I was surfing youtube this evening and found the helmet cam video from the rider that started it...it starts at about the 3:00 mark. Craziest thing I've ever seen...

I have heard about catalytic converters doing the same thing, it would totally suck being stuck there.

Wow I have honestly never thought about dealing with a fire while out dirt biking

I've had weeds stick between the header and the guard that started to smolder. Thats crazy though.

Aren't they going to require small extinguishers with all bikes at next years races? Or was this just a rumor?

The 3 races in Jericho will require gas mat and fire extinguisher in the pits. There are not any future regs that I am aware of that will require one on the bike.
