Hit the Snakes last night with a friend, me and a friend in my Trooper and he and his brother in his locked '02 TJ.
After gas/grub, we hit Rattlesnake about 7pm. Definitely different than when I ran it with other RME'ers in Feb with snow on it! Ran Rattlesnake with minimal drama, though the folks out their prior were overly zealous with the gas pedal, trail was torn up. We played around over that wicked deep mineshaft near the upper mine tailings, and continued on to Wayne's World just as it was getting dark. Didn't even try, maybe some day.
Backtracked and took the roads to the north into the mountains. As we started getting higher, the precipitation of the past few days was more and more evident - trail was puddled and a little muddy in places (glad I have MTs) but ultimately still firm as it's so rocky. We wrapped around in a loop, up to Eagle Hill and then headed southwest, eventually dropped back down a rocky ledge to the road near the upper tailings pile and hit the highway about midnight. Back to Layton in good time.
A great time had by all, no vehicle damage, and great company. None of us snapped any pics, and I left my camera on my back porch - thankfully covered! Need to be better at that, this is what passengers are for, right? Hoping to get out and do Rattlesnake and Constrictor in the daytime soon.
