ford super duty trucks

i took my running boards off and love the look and the extra clearance but really wonder if there is anything to do to keep the mud,salt, snow out of my door jam? is this a flaw of fords? i see a lot of these trucks without running boards and do they all deal with door jams full of whatever is on the road? i never realized how different the rocker/door combination was on the super duty compared to other trucks.

yep my dad and brother both have them and they get douched with everything you drive through. My boss's son has a new one like 08 ish and it has a weatherstrip on the bottom of the door the older ones don't seem to have it. Both at my house are 99. The holes are in the door for it to clip to but no seal, the bottom of the doors rust out badly on these trucks. They both have rust and my 97 doesn't. I would think you can get those strips from ford or maybe somewhere else.
