Gas tank question for chevy truck experts

My 85 K30 sprung a very expensive leak (lost a full tank of mid grade when we were gone camping). It appears that the plastic cover underneath the tank held too much crap against the tank and eventually rusted a hole through it. I found a guy parting out an 87 K20 and he has some tanks but I wasn't sure if they would work for an 85 since an 87 would have the TBI fuel pump in the tank. Does anyone know if an 85 sending unit will fit in an 87 tank ?
Anyone have a spare drivers side tank that would work for me that they would sell ?

I put one in my dad's 84 a couple weeks ago it was like 160 from Western Radiator in Ogden. Make sure you get the right one for your body length or you'll have to remake the filler hose. My dad's long bed had a short bed tank in it for some reason.

Please call me about the tank set up. I am converting to fuel injection on my long bed pickup, and would swap you tanks. Get the 87 tank and I'll swap ya. Wayne

The tank that came out of the truck didn't have a fuel pump in the tank so I didn't pick up the other side. I wonder if the truck really was a TBI truck or if they put the fuel pump external to the tank. The engine was gone from the truck so I couldn't check to see if it had the TBI on it. He sold me the tank for $30 and the passenger side tank was still there. If you want to call him his number is 801-652-2322. His name is Ron and lives up in Bountiful.
