I used a router. It works really slick but to get it over the 60 hub I had to use 2 different bits and had to take off a lot of material. My 60 was from a 79 ford. If I had to do it over I would find a way to turn the hub down because the wheels aren't going to last with the amount of material left.
This was just the first step. I don't have pictures of the second step. The second bit took out a 1/2" of material in a reverse chamfer type. I used the bearing off of the first bit though so that it would only take out 1/4" of material.
Also Advanced four drive has made a jig for their lathe to turn them. They charge like $50 a wheel or something to do them.

Why do you say that? It leaves the same material between the hub hole and the bolt circle as any other wheel made for a one ton.

The Ford 60 (from a 79 anyways) has a huge lip on the wheel mounting surface unlike any other one ton axle making it so alot of material has to be removed to make them fit. So much so that I would recommend turning that lip on the hub off.
Only pic I could dig up but you can see the lip on the hub.

My 1989 ford dana 60 bolted right up. The rear dana 70u needed a grinder for about 10 minutes on each side and I was being careful;)

Thats wierd because those hubs on my rig are not the stock 1/2" lug hubs. I switched them out to the 9/16" lug hubs that came off a 90 or so. Do your hubs look like the ones I posted with a lip?
