My son's Comanche 4.0 is getting tired after 230 K plus miles. He would like to put in a stroker kit while he is at it. Does anyone know of a good machine shop that has experience with Jeep I6 stroker builds ? I have several 4.0 cores that we can use do the build without taking his jeep off the road. He would like to find a good shop that will take their time and do it right.

I like steve watson up at felt machine in ogden.
Have had good luck with RPM (Rons Precision Machine) and Red Hale (Hunter Machine) I think.

I'd do it in the garage.

RPM did my 360's for a good price and they knew about some of the Jeep particularities.. I wouldn't be nervous using them again. I've heard good things about Felt too.

Nice running into you two today, BTW. An unexpected pleasantry.

Thanks, it was fun talking for a bit. We went out snow wheeling off of the Pony Express Trail and had a good time and didn't get stuck.

Dave, give me a call sometime next week. I did one of these for a customer. It turned out nice with gobs of power. However, there is a lot to be said for buying one from a reputable engine builder. I use a local SLC machine shop, a one man show, that does excellent work. He and I worked together on it. Because it was a stroker with tight clearances we blueprinted and balanced it and CC'd the combustion chambers. It runs on premium gas and is fun to drive.

Thanks for all of the suggestions, I'll have to call and talk it over. My son is currently saving up for the rebuild and has a way to go still before he can afford it but wants to get suggestions.
