Looking for some good grommet /snap pliers. Working on a idea to use my tent rain fly for the back of my truck.

I played around with it a little today, but thought about adding some metal grommets and/or snaps to areas of the fly so I can tighten it up a little etc...

Im pretty sure a craft store would sell them, but I want a good quality pair so as not to damage the fly because of crappy grommet/snap pliers.

Thanks.

not sure on the brand but I believe my dad got some at lowes or home depot a looooooooong time ago, worked fine for what we needed

best place to fined something like that would be Harbor freight or like home depot or lowes.... of course its going to be expensive but it shouldnt matter what brand it is IMO but might be wrong

Back when i was making banners at a sign shop we used the kind where you have a punch to punch the hole, then place half the grommet through the hole and onto a stand, then put a ring on it, place a guide(not sure of the name at the moment) on top, hit the guide, crushes the grommet, and your set. We used to use the pliers but they were a real pain unless you have the really pliable grommets.

I bought a personal one at lowes. They could probably be grabbed at harbor frieght or home depot. Business got them from Regional Supply up in the SLC area.

Oh also on your tent fly idea i have a ford ranger bed trailer that i did something similar with. I actually got 2 used poles from DI, cut them down, ran them diagonally from stake pocket to stake pocket to create a frame, then put a fly over that and used some of those cinch down type straps to pull out the slack. I eventually obtained a broken/torn tent for free, cut it up, added a zipper back by the tailgate and a window up near the front. I used that quite a bit til i got my roof top tent.
