Good Reminder - Jack Stands

Ouch, that seriously sounds painful.

I always put the car on jack stands and keep the jack under the car with some tension in case the stands fail the jack will catch it long enough for me to GTFO. But I must admit that laying down under the car when working on it is quite relaxing. I just lay my head down on the concrete and stare up at the underbelly of the car for a few moments when working on them, it's relaxing :eek2:

Hope he makes a full recovery.

yep that's why i invested on the 12 ton 100 dollar jack stands for safety and to reach my frame instead of the front lift, when it comes to stuff like this, its better to spend a few bucks more then to pay hospital bills or facing death to something so simple

A similar thing happened to my neighbor 6 months ago. I immediately bought 4 of those rubber wheel chocks from Checker.

i typically put my tires/wheels under the sides if i'm going to work on the jeep for a long time and have room to work around them. at least that way it would fall on them and not my face

^^X2

If the wheels need to come off, then they usually get tucked under the lowest weight bearing point of the vehicle that still allows for me to do whatever it is I needed to do.
