When we first purchased our house, it had what I am guessing were the original toilets in the two main bathrooms upstairs. After a wonderful dinner at Tucanos, I went back to the house to work on it before heading back to my parents for the night. I had a
small moment of needing a toilet right that second. After that performance, attempted to flush... It inevitably clogged. Almost as if it was turning in its resignation after its 29 year tenure of life. After churning the dooky butter for 30 mins, I gave up and left... Had a plumber come check it out; at that point the water had gone down. Guy said it was fine, no clog. Tried to re-clog it, nothing. Said those older toilets were known to not have good pressure, or the piping itself was the older/smaller style. Something like that... I didn't care, those toilets were set for execution. We picked up a couple elongated toilets (IIRC they were $200 each) from Lowes and we haven't had a single clog or issue since. We have been in the house fully for about a year and a half. They have been great.
We also upgraded the master with a bidet from Costco. Really like it, other than the toilet seat doesn't sit fully flush on the toilet anymore. Haven't really looked into a new seat or anything. Our water line for the toilet must be really close to the heating vents in the floor because in the morning the water is nice and warm for about 10 seconds of use. The cold water isn't bad either though. On a hot day its nice to have the cold water.
