Goodbye Rumsfeld

It was a very wise move to be prepared to replace him. Had he stayed, he'd spend the next 6 months at Democrat committee hearings answering loaded questions intended to generate sound bites for the evening news. Now the Dems can get straight to their plan for impeaching Bush. At least they can show everyone what they're real focus is.

You're probably right. I'm not sure 'impeachment' is warranted for Bush. Being an idiot, sure (at least I ASSume he's been one....I don't have the information he had to be able to judge his decision making, but from my armchair.....he's lacked a little). The Dems should spend their time and make a STRONG presidential candidate instead of giving us Al Gore and John Kerry to vote against. Given the choices they served up, I'd still vote for GWB over those two idiots.

I think you're right on Rumsfeld. Good move and a necessary 'scapegoat' tactic. Interesting to see another Texan get nominated to replace him. (seems like theres some background there, though--according to an article I read on google.com, Gates has quite the CIA background--could be good or bad)

Just like the Repubs spent all that time proding the Clinton scandal?

It's always going to be back and forth BS imo.
