Way cool, but I wish it was somebody besides Google. That company is way too big, with way too much access to way too much information.

Love it. There's no surprise why Google is so successful. Their free/open platform is definitely the way to go. They have fantastic products and great ideas, most of which we don't even pay for. (gmail, picasa, YouTube, Google Maps, Google Earth, Google Body, Chrome, Android, etc). I like that their company gives their employees 1 out of 5 days of work to work on whichever project inspires them the most.

Do they have lots of scary info? Absolutely. But it was legitimately obtained and I can simply not use the internet if I don't want them collecting info on me.

Google + is the one platform that I think has crossed too far into the private lives of people.

Regarding Google Glass, it will definitely revolutionize the way we interact with things. It will shape technology for years to come. I like to see innovative projects that actually come to fruition. The augmented reality features (overlays over roads, etc) are awesome (though not much different from Google Goggles).

Is it really "freely" at this point, though? It's very well and good to say "stop using the internet", but that's becoming less and less an option with each day. Even if you never ever log into a browser ever again, your utility company does. Your grocery store where you have a loyalty card does. Your credit information is sent over the internet every time you swipe your card, even if it's not a credit card, and are you going to pay check cashing fees twice a month and keep your money in the mattress?

Want satellite TV? Be ready for your TV and satellite box to phone home without asking you first. Your computer already does, of course, unless you're vigorous in ensuring that it doesn't. It won't be long before new car sales contracts will include permission by you for the car to contact the mother ship with your driving and maintenance habits... anonymously, of course.

And that doesn't even begin to count the amount of information that is collected about you every time you enter a search term into a google bar. Targeted ads popping up on an unrelated website a week after you searched for "sexy underwear" are the least of it - your email, your texts, your phone calls, all will soon be datamined if they aren't already. All that info is collected, collated, crunched and analyzed, and filed away with your implicit consent - and most of it resides on servers owned or controlled by Google.

Do I think they're Big Brother or a tool of the Illuminati? No, I think they're a great big tech company doing what great big tech companies do. Do I think Daddy Fed needs to step in? No, at least not yet. But I think it's foolish to look at that much information (and information = power) collected in the hands of one entity and not be concerned about how easily that info might be collected by the wrong people and misused. I don't mean to mock you, but I think if you're not worried about the Googly tentacles worming their way into every facet of your life, then you're not paying attention.

Anyway. I like the Google glasses, I think they're cool. I think they'll be cooler when the control chip is subdermal and they directly tap into your optic and aural nerves for input/output.

No need to make it personal. The ammount and details of the info they have concerns me, but I don't think they should be regulated by the government. The government is already collecting all that info from me (some via Google, much more via other sources). Do I wish they weren't? Of course. I am quite aware of all the info they collect, but I don't blame Google one bit. It's a great business model, and I support a free market. If google took this info from me without my consent, then I would have issue with it.

If it weren't google, it'd be yahoo or microsoft, or anyone else who figures out how to make it better.

There was discussion on the radio the other day about Google glass and it's ability to record. It's not like a cell phone where you got to pull it out of your pocket and hold it up, someone could be wearing it recoding and you just think they look like a dork. What if someone or a location doesn't want to be recorded? Maybe the bouncer at the strip club doesn't want them inside or maybe the women's volleyball team doesn't want them in the locker room (or maybe the football team thinks you are up to no good). Someone's bound to find objections.

Personally I don't see the draw of it. I have a cell phone, I can deal with looking at it when I need information, I got Lasik so I don't have to wear glasses.

I love google glass...and I don't give a flying crap about what google collects on me. They ask my permission to gather such info and I freely give that permission as does every other person that uses their services. READ YOUR TERMS OF SERVICE.

There IS NO PERSONAL ONLINE PRIVACY anymore and there hasn't been for quite some time now. The only privacy you do have is your financial privacy and that is really all that matters.

That being said...there are fantastic ways to limit your exposure.

Just what are you guys afraid of? What information do you not want corporations to know about? Are you ashamed of the porn? I'm not. Are you ashamed of the websites you visit, stuff you buy, people you talk to? I'm not. I literally have nothing to hide because there is nothing wrong or shameful about what I do on the internet.

I don't care.

On a hike or trail ride, 4x4 or moto.....OK. Maybe take the place of a GoPro.

Driving or commuting.......OK. Take the place of a dash cam. Catch some crazy freeway stuff, prove who's right or wrong in an accident, and of course you wouldn't have to fumble for your cell phone for those"Spotted" thread pics.

I love the idea as a gopro replacement (or addition). But yeah, I can see these having the "blu-tooth headset" effect.
