Wanted Got the wrong Warn winch controller

I picked up a Warn winch controller hoping they were fairly universal. This was to fix my friends M8000 where he lost the controller. This one I picked up is one of the newer more expensive ones for the Power Plant winches model number 83653. It will let the winch out but won't pull the cable in. I could pull the thing apart and re-wire the plug but it seems a shame to mess with such a nice controller. Do any of you have one of the 5 pin older controllers you would be willing to swap ?

I found that by removing the switch from the controller and moving one wire I got it to work. It does disable the light that used to come on when the switch was toggled. I could probably find a way to get the light back by adding a wire but the controller does what I need now.

It helped to have multiple controllers and a spare Warn relay box. I was able to trace out the wiring and see how the controllers actually work. I did discover that many of the online wiring diagrams aren't actually correct.
