Overland Journal reviewed the 276c ($642) and it was their editors choice. That 376c looks awesome, but almost $1000:eek:
I really like my etrex vista HCX.

That thing would be way over kill for me. But if you need all those options then I guess go for it. I just have a plain veturecx I think is the name. Once I move I will get one that I can type in address since they do not use the grid system.

GPSNOW.com has some great deals, plus he is a avid wheeler (also runs 4x4now.com).

There is a high-end GPS place somewhere in Alpine? Might be a mail-order only place but I'm gonna try them just for kicks, I'm all about supporting the lil' guy :D

Yep, the place you're talking about is listed on Garmin's website.....but I don't remember the name of it either.

Should I pull the trigger on something like this? Or should I wait till the birthday next month and hope one of you gets it for me :greg:

I have the Delorme PN-20 and really like it. It comes with TopoUSA 7.0 Mapping software and they do a great job talking back and forth. When I use it snowmobiling I can see where I stopped at play areas and climbed hills and everything. I've owned a few GPS's now and haven't found any of them with as many features as the PN-20. It's under $400 to.

My thought on high dollar GPS systms... Buy a lesser unit and actually use the thing ;) Having the high dollar unit isn't going to get you into the hills more than a lesser one ;) If you get out enough now and money isn't an issue, upgrade.

Kind've like building an "Expy" rig when your current rig isn't being utilized as such. Lame

I have used a Garmin GPS V for about 4 years now and it has been great. I just bought a GPSmap 60CSx and I love it too. I only paid $299 for the 60CSx and it looks like it will do everything that I will ever need it to.

I've got a Garmin 60Csx and it works great.
I've found that having maps and a laptop with more maps helps with a bigger picture of an area.
Thats why Kristina got the 17" laptop I had and I've got a new more portable 13"

I bought that one and took them up on the satisfaction gaurantee - I didn't like it and sent it back. It's been a while, and I don't remember the exact reasons now....

But to be fair, I haven't found a GPS that I do like in a while. I got pretty spoiled with my Magellan Sport Trak. Since I sold that on here, I've bought and returned probably 6 of them. Now I have a Garmin Nuvi 680, but it will probably go back as well....:(
