Kelli and I decided to head down to Moab last weekend to hang with Cody and the Grand Slam West guys. Altough we can't participate in the trails with them on account of my rig is of the lesser 1/2 leaf sprung 4.0 not as grand and lime greenier persuasion of cherokee we like the grand slam crowd. We got into town late Friday night and met up for a beer with the crew and listened to their stories of carnage on Pritchet and the plane crash on Elephant hill then hit the hey.
Saturday we met up with the "We Be Jeepin" crowd to run Metal Masher. It was a fun group always fun to meet new people. We hit the trail about 10am lead by the Moab samuria's (Susan, Jeff and Jim thanks guys). It was a great day, My first time on rock chucker and widow maker and I made both of them without assistance . We finished the trail around 3pm and Kell and I went out for some dinner and then headed back up Kane Creek Road with Kelli behind the wheel and the doors off I was bombing out of the Jeep picking up garbage (tons of it) and just enjoying the ride. We met up later with Cody and crew from some drinks before heading to Woody's where we encountered every gross earth hippie in the Moab area who threw on their best dirty shirt and splashed a little pachouli oil on and were rocking out to some aweful hippie band. They finaly cleared out and we sat outside and swapped stories.
Sunday we loaded up and checked out of the condo and headed to the Power dams for a little sun and cliff jumping, although the water was freezing the company was great and we had a blast. Headed to the brewery for some beer cheese soup before we departed, aired up and put sway bars on and hit the road with Cody headed home. He led us on a detour through the swell about sixteen miles out of the Green river junction and it spit us out in Castle Dale. It was a blast. I have never seen the desert so alive it's so green and wildlife is out and about it really made the trip,we even stopped at the MK tunnels.
All and all it was our best trip of the season for us. Here are a few pictures.
