Great job Stratton. Some comments: your wife is the greatest giving help and enthusiasm, it makes me want to go out and build something, I really miss working on my old scout, linseed oil must be done every year, do you miss your old trailer and have you heard anything more about it, doing it yourself you will enjoy it more and know how to fix anything that breaks, you will be able to modify and change at will, you take good photos with good explanations, HAVE FUN.

Get that dirty jeep off that clean trailer.

Looks good Stratton! That trailer cleaned up nicely with all that work.
Thanks. The Jeep rubbed my garage door on the way in. I guess I can't build it any taller lol.

Thanks Jack, my wife is a good gal.
I do miss my old trailer. I haven't heard anything else about it other than, the guy who stole it is in jail for about 7 other charges along with possession of stolen property. The police said once they charge someone with possession it's almost impossible to get them to tell them where the stolen property is because it is the equivalent of admitting guilt.... something bad guys don't much like to do.

I'm glad we did it ourselves. I'm doing the going to do the same thing as my last trailer and laminate (packing tape) my wiring diagram and stick it in the trailer box for troubleshooting in the future, along with extra bearings.

Looks good
Thanks pard.
Very nice job.
Thanks El Barto.

Stockton Wheel found me a used wheel. Talked them down from $100 shipped to $80 shipped. They are supposedly shipping today.

Thanks to 4x4prepper on Pirate4x4 for the suggestion :)

You said that the axles are 6 k axles. You are limited by the tires. Looks like they only have a load rating of 2300 lbs. That puts you at 9200 lbs. If all your doing is your jeep no big deal. If you try hauling equipment might be a problem. But damn 12 ply!

I have always used thompsons sealant on my deck. Is linseed oil different? better?

I don't know the story on the tire: when I 1st was qouted they said it was rated to 3k (which would be supported by the fact they are 100psi and load range F) but when it showed up they were 2300lb rated. My Jeep is only 4180 so I'm well within thr range of my intended usage.
The sidewalls are nearly a thick as my tsl's!

It seems that boiled linseed oil soaks deep into the wood. I've been told I may have to do it more often but it doesn't scratch off like a varnish.

does linseed oil give the deck a greasy layer on the wood? I have seen a few buddies trailers that guys used atf and the deck is nasty. You lay on your back and you get covered in junk and then get in the the seats of your truck. Just wondering if linseed oil is like that or what?

No it dries. They used to use it on decks. It kinda smells nice too.

After cutting a sidewall on my "short-course" tires with my huge ramps while backing off the trailer.
I decided to build some new ramps. Thanks to my friends who answered all my texts...
The old ones weigh close to 300lbs each. ( I can't even lift one).

This was all out of stuff I has laying around :)
