Wow, an impressive article! I had no idea about any of this. What a history! I'll have a totally new appreciation of Unimogs from now on whenever I see one which isn't very often.

Love the use as a switching engine & for re-railing cars.

I'd love to own a beater 404 at some point. :freak:

I know a guy or two, you let me know when you're ready. ;)

One of those guys I know has an ex-railroad Mog. Had all kinds of ridiculous attachments and hydraulics... and everything weighed a trillion pounds as we took it off LOL

Wish they went faster. :/

404s are cool... Until you own one Haha mine was a royal pita.. it was still really fun but some days I questioned the logic of it.. Top speed was like 40, no power steering, 37 inch German rock hard tires, it felt like it had no suspension, and when you would/could find/order parts for it they would come shrink wrapped in crazy old German packages. But if you could get it steered in the right direction it would prettywell out crawl any truck I've ever seen

There was a pretty cool Unimog 416 Doka in the Lewiston City parade today! :chris: I think this guy owns quite a few Unimogs, Volvo's and Pinz... jealous! :D
