That sucks. I hope the guy is ok.

As I wait for my concealed carry permit I can honestly say I hope I am never in a situation that I would shoot anyone. I doubt I will even carry other then when I am camping. I would have shot back in this case though.

A raw deal for sure. We can all posture and second guess what we would do in the situation, but the fact is we were not there and don't know how it all went down.

I've run across some pretty sketch situations in my remote travels, hobo's squatting in the desert, bums living in abandoned buildings, etc. If it is a private claim and they were in deed trespassing and were asked to leave... things could turn as to the assault. I'm by no means saying what happened was right or wrong, but if I lived in a remote area on a private mine claim and was approached by a handful of men whom might be acting hostile towards me... who knows.

I hope the victim recovers and I hope the shooter is punished as such if he indeed acted our of malice.

That really sucks. I hope he sues him for all his money.
And I thought all the big losers were here in Denver.
This is why I carry a .45 when wheelin, and an AR15 for my backup.

I'm a hard-ass with weapons spilling out of my truck when I wheel.. I'd have shot that MF'er in the face if he tried that on me.. Cause i'm a badass with lots of guns..

I'm impressed that the wheeling group had firearms, yet didn't fire back and kill the guy. I'm not sure what I would've done in that situation if I had a firearm. It's hard to put yourself there.

As you read the account from the guy posting, it happened quickly. Also, the guy posting his point of view wasn't even standing near them when the shotgun went off. He'd heard it all hearsay from his dad? Either way it was second hand, so we're getting it third hand.

Sucks that the victim had to let his arm go. Hopefully that millionare hiding in the hills has to fork over some serious $$$ for damages.

Yep, not all the time, but in certain areas, like the mountains around Boulder, lots of drug makers and dearlers in them hills.

My friend was a cop in Idaho Springs,Co. for 5 years, and 4 years Boulder county sheriff, and another friend of mine was a fire fighter for Boulder county. There fire truck has bullet holes in it from when they had to go up the fire roads in Boulder county.
He told me they would get shot at every now and then by the drug dealers up there.

I know storys about the foothills around here that our local news will not do storys about, Bad for Tourism!
It is pretty safe for the most part, but you never know what could happen.:D
