If the sprinklers hit the cars, nightmare! I use Vinegar too, having detailed cars-it works the best. How could that have happened? How close is their house to yours?

Does Vinegar work on hardwater stains on your house windows too? Mine are REALLY bad and it drives me nuts...doesnt ever seem like there is a solution but to repalce the whole window. :(

dilute the piss out of lime away, and keep it away from alloy wheels.

The right thing to do is go to a boat shop and get some Hull Acid. Follow with a polish and wax.

Um you need a new windshield anyway, good excuse to replace it. We have been using Kaboom on our auto glass at work that comes water stained from the factory, seems to work pretty good.

No kidding? WD40?

When we moved up here from PG, I cleaned our shower with WD40 and it made it look awesome! I just sprayed it, let it sit for a few minutes, then used a soft scrub type pad and scrubbed it all away. You might be able to just use the WD40 a few times without scrubbing, but it's not hard scrubbing...more of a wiping.

EDIT: I just don't know how well it will work on the side of a car and if it will mess up the paint or not.

Does the wd-40 or the vinegar hurt the paint at all? I have some hard water issues due to our condos feeling like they have to water the cars in the parking lot....
