Hardknock Bobbers

These go to 11
What do you guys think of these little guys.

I need something to save on gas. $4.61 at the chevron is just way too much. I figure I can pay for one of these little guys in a month with the gas savings.

Around $2k and they go 60. Way cooler then a scooter. Way cheeper then a v-twin.

Not bad, I'd ride one. What kind of MPG do they get? For another $1k I got my DR650, it'll do 95 MPH, gets 55-60 MPG and is a blast to ride on pavement or in the dirt.

While that is quite cute, motorcycles scare the beejesus out of me. I'll think I'll stick with my diesel sucking MaKenzie. :)

You should try making a corner on a dirt/gravel road at 40+ with the rear end sliding out from under you, full-throttle, dragging your inside foot to help stabilize the bike. Sometimes if you're sideways enough you have to counter-steer... steer the direction opposite of the turn. That there is a good time, I was practicing today. Also practiced my wheelies, that big bike is a beast to get off the ground.

For some reason Catherine doesn't like me telling her about my rides. :guilty:

I have a hardknock. Ive assembled pretty much all but a few things. mine has the 150 motor (upgrade) and the street legal kit (upgrade) total comes to around $2400 I havent had any time for this but I have taken it for a few rides and it rocks, I was thinking of selling it due to time. Id be willing to sell it for 1400 with all the upgrades if you are interested shoot me a pm or call (801)358-4691. mine is all flat black with ape hangers. ;)

Can't be that much harder than doing it on a mountain bike, right? :D :D

I actually just went and bought a Kawasaki KE100 tonight for 1K and im picking it up tomorrow. Driving my jeep everywhere is getting a little spendy, its more for college then anything, but hey its a nice little bike. Will post up pictures soon

That literally makes me sick to my stomach. Scares the life out of me I tell you!! Catherine has my sympathy. When Chris and I got married, he had a crotch rocket that he'd take out over Red Mountain and Molas with his Dad. I never asked how it went.

Buy one of these, then diesel wont sting as bad.

I have a buddy that just bought one and here is my summation.

They look cool.
They sound OK.
The welds on the frame LOOK ok.
The engine is amazingly gutless.
The shifting just stinks.
The stocker 110 WILL NOT DO 60. I clocked Jeff at 45mph down a slight hill and he was giving it all it had...maybe 50 on the flats after accelerating for a couple miles but NOT 60.
It is squirrelly as hell because it has no rear suspension and the springer front end is a joke.

Is it a cute little toy? Yes.
It is a serious commuter? No way in hell.

Save your 1500-2000$ and buy a real motorcycle and customize it to look like that thing if you want a commuter.
