I built my own rear cover and am not sure where my front one came from. If I had to buy them though I would get them through ruffstuffspecialities.

I've bought two different covers for a front dana 44. One was from Great Lakes Offroad and the other was from Ruffstuff. Both are very beefy and have good welds. The GLO cover has a 1/2" ring and 1/4" cover. This cover fit well and bolted right up to the axle. The only thing I noticed was that the ring has a relief cut in between the bolts and did not have as much sealing area around it. But with a 1/2" ring it seals up tightly. I sold this to a good friend and he has had no problems with it leaking.

The Ruffstuff is all 3/8", both the ring and cover. With this cover I had to drill out all the holes on the cover to get it to fit correctly. I just touched up most of the holes with the appropriate sized bit, but had to file on two holes to get the bolts to go in straight. You could see where the cutter that cut out the bolt holes had a little slag in them and were not perfectly round. It may have just been a problem with the plasma cutter and it made it through inspection. Really, it was no big deal and did not take long to correct.

I think they may be on sale if you check out the vendor section on Pirate.

GreatLakesOffroad is the beefiest one I've ever seen. My brothers D60 one made by them is 1/2" thick, with a 1/2" thick strap going down the center of the cover, (running the length of the ring gear) for a total of 1" thick right there.. He did have to do some grinding because he had tie-rod clearance issues because he isnt running high-steer.. The only downfall I would say with it, is he had an 8 week waiting period to get his. You may or may not.. But as far as I know, he build them when he gets an order..

You can see his in the attachments... Other than that I would reccomend BallisticFab, BlueTorchFab, or RuffStuffSpecialties.

have a crane on the front and a poison spyder in the back. both beefy as hell. the PS has ribs and look a little more bling. the crane is has a smooth face and probably will slide over rocks a bit easier.

Diff cover

Here is our cover, the Normal style says Trail Defense vice Bronco.

tn_D44%20Bronco%20Script%20HD%20differential%20cover.jpg

-1/2" of Nodular Iron protection
- Nearly indestructible. go ahead, try it.
- Lifetime warranty; not that you'll need it.

We have put some heavy destruction to these, including shooting it with a .50 cal in Iraq last year. The normal .50 cal rounds only dented it. Armor piercing rounds was a different story.
