Heim joints street legal?

I have always heard that heim joints were not street legal. But now many companies are selling them as part of lift kits. The best I can make out of UDOT's info is they do not say no heims, so to me that says they are legal.

If it doesnt say it's illegal then i say its legal, my kit has heims and it passes saftey inspection fine, so either the inspector doesnt care or is ignorant and doesnt know what the law is.

There are 2 reasons I ask. #1 for the King Challenge and the inspection/engineering event. We deduct points for non street legal mods. #2 if they are legal I am going to ditch the leaf springs under my Chevy and go to a 4 link coil system. I wish the law were a bit more clear  before I go making that dramatic of change to my ride.

Never heard that they werent legal. Seems to me that companies would have a hard time selling kits with those joints if they werent legal in all states

I'm going to play necromancer and revive this thread. I'm considering throwing together upgraded steering on the wife's XJ that I'm working on converting to a family expedition/light duty wheeling rig. Has anyone had problems registering their rigs due to heim steering?

I've never heard anyone say "my rig was failed for heim joints" but I have heard "a friend of a friend of a friend's uncle had their rig fail for heim joints."

Take it fwiw
