The problem I see with this (correct me if I interpretted your Q wrong) is bearings can and will wear out and when they do they quite often fall into pieces...if this were to happen you would then loose the heim over top the bolt and loosing whatever you plan on using it on (linkage, steering, etc...)...I'm not positive what a flange bearing is but are you able to keep them greased??? This is also an arguement about heims period...if you bust the outter sleeve you are SOL (and hope you aren;t driving at high speeds):D:D this is just my take on this...

they call them bearings but I would call it a bushing. Right now I'm using starter bushings that are 5/8 OD and 1/2 ID which are perfect , but they are hard to find and I have to use washers on both sides. The flange bushings are more or less the bushing and the washer in one piece and tend to be more stout. The bushings also tend to wear on the inside first so the hiem is not harmed it just starts to move a little.
