Just getting into offroad fun, might have lots of questions.

First one, anybody know if the Las Vegas Desert Backroaders are still around, or know of any other clubs w/in 5 hours of SLC doing the same thing?

Thanks, all.

I've been doing a little ghost town hunting, and the wife has decided she likes finding pretty rocks. In the course of indulging both hobbies, we're spending a fair bit of time off pavement.

Right now, my '00 Explorer has been serving admirably, it's more capable than I thought. A year ago I was looking to pitch it, now I'm thinking it might almost be worth a lift and some decent tires. I've also got an '86 4Runner I'm bringing back from the dead. Other than the 2" lift the previous owner put on it, it's stock. My first priority after getting it running will be correcting the butt-sag, after that I dunno.

Definitely looking to hook up with anybody else hunting ghost towns, modding their first gen 4Runner, or just to learn some fun trails around the area. Cheers!

Welcome to RME. Its a great community with tones of info to help you get that 4-Runner back up to snuff.
For ghost town hunting and such you may want to head over to Expedition Utah and look around there. Lots of folks are interested in that sort of thing.
