So my son got given an 88 4runner for his 16th birthday. we have been fixing it up. We were told it needed a timing belt, after looking into it more and running into multiple problems, we now have the frame and body separated and stripped. The frame is about sandblasted and ready to paint and the motor is ready to be put back together.
Anyways one of the plastic spring retainers behind the hub is busted and we need a replacement. I'm not sure what it's called and can't afford to buy a new hub at the moment.

Can we order just this piece or does someone have one I might be able to buy.

Had other stuff going on today but the crank Pistons and head are back in.
I need a bigger garage we are out of room, to many parts and tools everywhere.

I strongly believe that time spent with your son in your garage doing this project will pay off in the future by not having to spend time with him in trouble. Good for both of you to have a father interested in something other than letting him play video games. Enjoy your time
