Good to hear! I deleted your other threads so people won't be rushing out to 5MP & calling your phone all night.

Soo... did you get pics?!

Sounds like we had a few rescue parties organized. Glad to hear it worked out, and I'm glad we were able to cancel the all-out blitz before we made it out there.

That's why I didn't head out without talking to him ;) A place like 5mp you aren't likely to wait long for someone to happen by and pull you out.

I was with John (XT utah) and appreciate all the help and a big thanks to the people who were getting ready to head out and save our sorry butts. It always amazes me how many nice people are out in the 4 wheeling community. Thanks again!

Yup, as I suspected. I got sideways in the same spot last month, and had to use the tree as support while I powered up towards the top of the hill.

Thats why I wont go wheeling alone!

He might not have been alone, just not with somebody that could pull him out.

I go wheeling alone quite often... Just gotta know that the worst can happen. I say at the very least let people know where you are going. :)

You guys make good points. :)

I prefer to wheel with others but I almost always end up wheeling alone. I pretty much just take off and explore at a moment's notice so finding someone else to go is next to impossible. However, I'm usually wheeling where help is reasonably accessible.

Anyway, yesterday's experience convinced me to cough up the $ for a winch (I already have a pull pal). 99% of the time I have been stuck or stranded, a winch and pull pal would have gotten me out. Also, I wheel with a hi-lift, lift mate http://www.hi-lift.com/products/liftmate.htm, 20,000 lb strap, 8,000 lb chain, tools, etc.

I will still explore alone but I think my days of trying extreme stuff while alone are over :greg:.

Thanks again for everyone's willingness to help :)

I seem to remember you getting pulled out of the same wash in the same spot twice within 5 minutes

You don't see your limits until you've passed them :greg:
