I want to run toy axles on a project of mine but I have a few Questions I need answered.

1- what year is the breaking point that they are wider and how much wider do they get?

2- what is the diference between a V6 axle and a 4cyl axle?

3- are there diferent size front ends?

4- if you were doing a project what toyota axles would you run and what year truck would they come off of.

I have no clue about toyota axles so any help would mean alot to me. Thanks

Hey dude, I got your message about a complete front end... I will let you know if I find one, but I am looking for some myself.

1. The IFS trucks 86' and newer had the wider rear axle...

2. The V6/Turbo 3rds are a better/stronger housing...

3. No, all of the solid front axles were the same width, their are better housing designs... (some had trusses underneath)

4. Get the front from a 85' and run spacers, get the rear from a IFS rear.

Hey thanks Kurt Taht answered my questions, one more though, will the V6 thirds fit in any housing?

Yes, as far as I remember.... (I am a cruiser guy not the baby stuff... ;))

If you find an earlier mini-front axle (without the desirabel truss), I have several of the better trussed ones...

but you can also look into the fj80 1995? newer cruiser wagons. They have an option of electric lockers. I think the front axle has bigger birfs. I am not sure if shafts are any bigger or stronger.
The ifs rear axles get 3inches wider. 1.5 inches wider per side. They are a basic bolt on to a toy truck. The spring perches are the same. Just need the parking brake stuff.
The v-6 housings I thought were the same. But the vcarrier bearings were a little bigger and stronger. It seems as though that is only a 10-20% increase in strength.
