help needed for 95 Toy 4Runner

Hello everyone,

Ive got a 95 Toy 4Runner that the front IFS axel is toast, im still
able to drive it but cant lay it up to work on it because its my only transportation.
What im wondering is if I can take the axel and CV joint shafts out, plug the rear of the wheels and still keep driving it so that I can work on it.
The other concern is if the axel is part of the subframe, and if I remove it will it weaken my frame ? Thanks ahead of time for any help you can provide for my questions

What's broke on the IFS? I assume you don't have manual hubs? Easiest thing might be to buy some manual hubs and swap them out so that the front end isn't turning.

its the pass side stub axle shaft. damm I never thought of doing that(switch to manual hubs) thats a good ideal. know where I can get a cheap set of hubs

Looks like there are several sets for sale on ebay. Here's one link: ebay

You might have to get some new spindle nuts too. I had to change mine out on my '85 that I converted to manual hubs. Would be a relatively easy fix for your situation.

i have a 90 v-6 complete, minus hubs, but with the spindle nuts frontend assembly i'll sell ya. CHEAP!!!
