We just layed 5600 square feet of sod. It wasn't as expensive as I thought it might be. $1600 worth. I love how it came out. View attachment 127609View attachment 127610View attachment 127611
We buried the rain gutter run offs and did a pop up valve thing into the grass. Not sure if that was in your plans but I love how it turned out on ours. Yea that's a lot of money for a lot of sod. Didn't realize you had that much to put down. Our front yard was already done we just needed to do the back.View attachment 127618View attachment 127619View attachment 127620
Front sprinkler zone complete. Holy crap there’s a LOT of smaller rocks in that dirt....
This is how it looks in the grass. Dig a trench and then this pop up thing attachs to the end then when it rains it just waters the grass. This one is ran like 60 feet from the side of our house down and I have another shorter one on the other corner of our grass.I need to do something with those stupid tubes. Not sure I could hate something in a yard more than those
I have a similar one in the front yard. I can't even find where it is now, but it's still working. I should have done that with all of my gutter drains. This is how it looks in the grass. How do those work in the winter, with snow on the ground? I've got a couple I would like to run from the gutter down spouts.
Not sure Bart as I just installed them but I think in my winter they will be just fine as I live in Southern Utah. 👍I imagine if they were buried deep enough you wouldn't have a problem until the actual pop up water came out. How much rain so we really get anyways here in Utah? I did them into my grass to spread the water out. During thunder storm with heavy rain in short periods it would erode my ground and the back yard would turn into a pond against the brick wall. I am hoping the grass can help with this problem. How do those work in the winter, with snow on the ground? I've got a couple I would like to run from the gutter down spouts.
Not a huge fan. Have you considered a Northern Catalpa? I’m planting one this year. One of my personal favorites, if you can make peace with the pods that drop and become ammo for kid fightsThoughts on a Kentucky coffee tree to be a friend with my London Plantree?

Yes, it gets large seed pods (that were historically boiled for a frontier coffee substitute) plus giant compound leaves that when they drop in the fall get pretty gnarly View attachment 127897
